10 Best Weekend Getaways from Delhi NCR

✍️ Team EZPZ Tour⏱ 7 min read📍 Delhi NCR

When the city gets too loud, the best cure is a quick escape — and Delhi NCR is lucky enough to sit within a few hours of the Himalayas, the Ganga and some of India's finest heritage. Here are ten weekend getaways we send travellers on most often, each one close enough to leave after work on Friday and be back by Sunday night.

We've ordered them roughly by driving distance and added the ideal number of days plus the best season, so you can pick the one that fits your weekend rather than the other way around.

1. Rishikesh & Haridwar — 5–6 hours

The Ganga's twin towns are the classic NCR weekend: Ganga aarti at Har Ki Pauri, cafes and rafting in Rishikesh, and a genuine sense of calm within an evening's drive. Two nights is plenty. See our Haridwar & Rishikesh package.

2. Nainital — 6–7 hours

A boat on Naini Lake, cool pine air and mall-road evenings make Nainital the easiest hill weekend from Delhi. Pair it with Mukteshwar for orchards and quiet, or with Jim Corbett for a safari. Our Nainital & Mukteshwar trip does exactly that.

3. Mussoorie & Dhanaulti — 6–7 hours

The Queen of the Hills plus the deodar quiet of Dhanaulti is a lovely two-side weekend — one lively, one serene. Great for families and first-time hill travellers.

4. Jim Corbett — 6 hours

India's oldest national park is close enough for a two-night safari weekend. Jungle jeep rides, riverside resorts and a real chance of a tiger sighting. Combine it with Nainital on the Nainital & Corbett package.

5. Kasauli — 5–6 hours

The smallest, sleepiest hill town on this list — and that's the point. Colonial cottages, forest walks and toy-town charm, all under six hours. Perfect for a couple's reset.

6. Agra & the Taj — 3–4 hours

With the Yamuna Expressway, sunrise at the Taj Mahal is an easy day-and-a-half trip. Add Fatehpur Sikri or extend into the full Golden Triangle.

7. Jaipur — 5 hours

Forts, bazaars and the Pink City's palaces make Jaipur a rewarding heritage weekend. Two nights lets you cover Amber Fort, City Palace and Hawa Mahal without rushing.

8. Shimla — 7 hours

A touch further, but the Ridge, Mall Road and Kufri deliver a proper hill-station weekend. If you've a day more, continue to Manali on our Shimla–Manali tour.

9. Mathura & Vrindavan — 3 hours

The spiritual heart of the Braj region is a short, soulful getaway — temples, ghats and the famous evening aarti. A comfortable one-night trip; see the Mathura & Vrindavan package.

10. Neemrana — 3 hours

A restored 15th-century fort-palace on the Delhi–Jaipur highway, Neemrana is the shortest true escape here — heritage stay, zip-lining and a candlelit dinner, one night is enough.

Planning tip: For hill destinations, leave Delhi by 6 AM on Saturday to beat both city traffic and afternoon ghat-road jams. Sunday-evening returns are smoothest before 4 PM or after 9 PM.

Which weekend is right for you?

Want cool air and lakes? Go Nainital or Shimla. Craving the Ganga and calm? Rishikesh. Heritage and photos? Agra, Jaipur or Neemrana. Whatever you choose, we can arrange the stay, the sightseeing and — through our own EZPZ Taxi fleet — the car and driver, so your only job is to pack.
